Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Manufacturing and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 7.42% or 10.50 points to trade at 151.95 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 4.25% or 203.0 points to end at 4985.0 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 3.23% or 22.90 points to 732.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 2.64% or 11.00 points to trade at 405.00 in late trade. Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) declined 2.14% or 3.06 points to end at 140.10 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) shed 2.12% or 7.00 points to 323.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 101 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.14% to 21.570.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.53% or 7.00 to $1310.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.05% or 0.65 to hit $60.99 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.81 to trade at $63.92 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.81% to 56.7870, while EUR/RUB rose 0.84% to 69.3400.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 90.59.
