Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.02% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 3.41% or 5.18 points to trade at 157.20 at the close. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) added 1.92% or 33.0 points to end at 1748.5 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 1.63% or 16.30 points to 1014.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which lost 2.50% or 2.70 points to trade at 105.22 in late trade. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 2.09% or 54.0 points to end at 2529.0 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) shed 2.02% or 11.50 points to 557.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 113 to 102 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.24% to 21.460.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.18% or 2.45 to $1322.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.62% or 0.87 to hit $54.66 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.20 to trade at $62.04 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.15% to 65.5096, while EUR/RUB rose 0.42% to 75.2027.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 95.180.
