Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 7.54% or 11.50 points to trade at 164.00 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 2.29% or 0.0219 points to end at 0.9799 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 1.53% or 5.75 points to 381.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which lost 1.98% or 1.550 points to trade at 76.750 in late trade. MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG) declined 1.29% or 0.0375 points to end at 2.8705 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) shed 1.28% or 9.10 points to 701.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 95 and 13 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.29% to 20.530.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.43 to $1292.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $47.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.37 to trade at $52.03 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.22% to 59.0149, while EUR/RUB fell 0.64% to 69.4390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 93.37.
