Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY), which rose 7.33% or 23.20 points to trade at 339.90 at the close. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 4.18% or 26.30 points to end at 656.00 and Yevroplan PAO (MCX:EPLN) was up 3.19% or 22.0 points to 712.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 1.65% or 7.00 points to trade at 416.10 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 1.00% or 0.0375 points to end at 3.7120 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) shed 0.93% or 0.125 points to 13.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 134 to 93 and 22 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 2.35% to 17.480.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1287.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.43 to trade at $56.73 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.63% to 57.5475, while EUR/RUB fell 0.39% to 67.9500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 93.01.
