Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 2.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT), which rose 1.13% or 0.10 points to trade at 8.50 at the close. Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.84% or 0.02 points to end at 2.39 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was unchanged 0.03% or 0.00 points to 3.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 16.58% or 3.24 points to trade at 16.30 in late trade. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) declined 2.68% or 0.10 points to end at 3.56 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) shed 2.45% or 0.10 points to 3.82.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 5 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.38% or 0.31 to $82.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.79% or 0.61 to hit $78.20 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.38% or 57.60 to trade at $2,358.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.04.
