Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 5.38% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.62 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 0.39% or 0.04 points to end at 10.17 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.27% or 0.02 points to 7.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which lost 2.96% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.44 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 1.92% or 0.32 points to end at 16.39 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 1.86% or 0.26 points to 13.74.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.11% or 0.80 to $71.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.30% or 0.89 to hit $67.41 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 12.79 to trade at $2,661.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 105.99.
