Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.88% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which rose 0.70% or 0.04 points to trade at 5.07 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) added 0.55% or 0.01 points to end at 0.92 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 0.18% or 0.03 points to 16.83 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which lost 4.79% or 0.80 points to trade at 15.81 in late trade. Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) declined 3.78% or 0.32 points to end at 8.02 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 1.34% or 0.03 points to 2.49.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 5.65% or 4.27 to $71.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 5.68% or 4.08 to hit $67.70 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.70 to trade at $2,753.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.14.
