Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.65% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which rose 1.68% or 0.09 points to trade at 5.13 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) added 1.03% or 0.04 points to end at 3.73 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 0.57% or 0.01 points to 2.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 3.59% or 0.56 points to trade at 15.03 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 1.79% or 0.07 points to end at 4.01 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS) shed 1.10% or 0.04 points to 3.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.29% or 0.21 to $73.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.23 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.68% or 18.25 to trade at $2,672.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 101.27.
