Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 2.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which rose 0.80% or 0.0540 points to trade at 6.7810 at the close. Portucel (LISBON:PTI) added 0.67% or 0.0245 points to end at 3.6845 and REN (LISBON:RENE) was down 0.26% or 0.0070 points to 2.7280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which lost 7.03% or 0.1665 points to trade at 2.2035 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) declined 6.57% or 0.0045 points to end at 0.0640 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) shed 6.50% or 0.0210 points to 0.3020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 48 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.16% or 0.57 to $49.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.75% or 0.79 to hit $44.36 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.65% or 7.10 to trade at $1092.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0931, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7042.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.85.
