Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 0.93% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.3240 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.77% or 0.0060 points to end at 0.7880 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 0.47% or 0.015 points to 3.205 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 2.35% or 0.335 points to trade at 13.915 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.09% or 0.3500 points to end at 16.4000 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 2.09% or 0.0049 points to 0.2300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.94% or 1.50 to $52.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.74% or 1.29 to hit $48.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.24 to trade at $1291.16 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1751, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.9138.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.42.
