Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.33% or 0.0240 points to trade at 1.0540 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 0.93% or 0.0450 points to end at 4.8650 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.63% or 0.0250 points to 4.0000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which lost 1.62% or 0.050 points to trade at 3.040 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.60% or 0.2500 points to end at 15.3700 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 1.29% or 0.2250 points to 17.1550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.06% or 0.04 to $68.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.25% or 0.16 to hit $64.34 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.50 to trade at $1339.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.2417, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8753.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 88.96.
