Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.28% or 0.145 points to trade at 11.445 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 0.88% or 0.028 points to end at 3.208 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 0.35% or 0.0130 points to 3.6910 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.04% or 0.0160 points to trade at 0.7670 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.79% or 0.0430 points to end at 2.3610 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.24% or 0.0650 points to 5.1850.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 27 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.96% or 0.50 to $52.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $48.24 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.93 to trade at $1292.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.9233.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 93.22.
