Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 4.74% or 0.1680 points to trade at 3.7140 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 2.87% or 0.0900 points to end at 3.2250 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.92% or 0.0080 points to 0.8750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.92% or 0.0051 points to trade at 0.2612 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.78% or 0.210 points to end at 11.600 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 1.35% or 0.2150 points to 15.7450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 2.13% or 1.34 to $61.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.41% or 1.39 to hit $56.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1267.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1794, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8821.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 93.56.
