Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.07% or 0.0059 points to trade at 0.2910 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 1.41% or 0.0640 points to end at 4.5880 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.33% or 0.0400 points to 3.0500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 8.49% or 0.3250 points to trade at 3.5050 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 4.98% or 0.2540 points to end at 4.8460 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 3.98% or 0.0100 points to 0.2410.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was down 0.72% or 0.47 to $64.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.43% or 0.88 to hit $60.48 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.50 to trade at $1327.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.2393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 89.67.
