Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.21% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.66% or 0.0260 points to trade at 1.5960 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) added 1.64% or 0.0135 points to end at 0.8385 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.42% or 0.130 points to 9.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 2.05% or 0.3050 points to trade at 14.5550 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 1.47% or 0.2200 points to end at 14.7600 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 1.44% or 0.120 points to 8.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 13 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.45% or 0.30 to $66.46 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.55% or 0.31 to hit $56.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1223.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1451, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 96.07.
