Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.15% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 4.58% or 0.2290 points to trade at 5.2240 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 2.12% or 0.3400 points to end at 16.3450 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.50% or 0.0050 points to 1.0110 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 4.63% or 0.1580 points to trade at 3.2560 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 4.01% or 0.475 points to end at 11.370 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 3.96% or 0.0170 points to 0.4120.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.77% or 0.49 to $63.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.81% or 0.46 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.31% or 3.95 to trade at $1287.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1653, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 94.33.
