Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.06% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 1.22% or 0.1800 points to trade at 14.9800 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.19% or 0.1250 points to end at 10.6500 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.95% or 0.1400 points to 14.8600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.13% or 0.0056 points to trade at 0.1734 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 2.61% or 0.0420 points to end at 1.5700 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 1.40% or 0.0035 points to 0.2465.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.33% or 0.22 to $66.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $56.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.97% or 23.60 to trade at $1222.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 96.34.
