Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 2.56% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.440 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.30% or 0.1800 points to end at 14.0450 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.02% or 0.0020 points to 0.1980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 1.50% or 0.0570 points to trade at 3.7420 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.41% or 0.0185 points to end at 1.2902 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) shed 1.37% or 0.0810 points to 5.8530.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 3.26% or 1.77 to $56.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.44% or 1.77 to hit $53.27 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.37% or 4.35 to trade at $1166.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.0645, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8387.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 100.94.
