Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.83% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 1.91% or 0.31 points to trade at 16.50 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.82% or 0.28 points to end at 15.66 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) was up 1.74% or 0.15 points to 8.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which lost 0.77% or 0.14 points to trade at 17.33 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.45% or 0.04 points to end at 8.90 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) 0.08% or 0.00 points to 2.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.79% or 0.56 to $71.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.80 to hit $68.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 5.30 to trade at $2,529.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.51.
