Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.69% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.62% or 0.37 points to trade at 14.47 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) added 1.70% or 0.15 points to end at 8.98 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.36% or 0.06 points to 4.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which lost 1.19% or 0.23 points to trade at 18.76 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.83% or 0.06 points to end at 7.20 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 0.20% or 0.01 points to 3.07.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 7 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.89% or 1.49 to $77.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.41% or 1.83 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.95% or 24.25 to trade at $2,536.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 101.58.
