Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 4.27% or 0.19 points to trade at 4.64 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) added 3.37% or 0.24 points to end at 7.36 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 2.21% or 0.30 points to 13.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 2.22% or 0.24 points to trade at 10.56 in late trade. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) declined 0.80% or 0.03 points to end at 3.35 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.41% or 0.01 points to 2.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 11 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 2.71% or 1.95 to $73.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.04% or 2.07 to hit $70.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 11.39 to trade at $2,669.89 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.22.
