Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 3.67% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.54 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 2.11% or 0.36 points to end at 17.44 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 1.92% or 0.28 points to 14.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which lost 0.47% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.22 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.28% or 0.02 points to end at 7.22 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 5.18.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.53% or 0.41 to $76.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.29% or 0.21 to hit $73.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.50 to trade at $2,633.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 102.59.
