Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which rose 3.35% or 0.24 points to trade at 7.40 at the close. Semapa (ELI:SEM) added 1.84% or 0.26 points to end at 14.40 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) was up 1.74% or 0.01 points to 0.41 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 0.78% or 0.11 points to trade at 14.06 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) declined 0.56% or 0.05 points to end at 8.87 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) shed 0.55% or 0.02 points to 3.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.82% or 1.46 to $78.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.12% or 1.64 to hit $75.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 9.70 to trade at $2,545.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.65.
