Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 1.34% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 0.76% or 0.13 points to end at 17.17 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 0.56% or 0.03 points to 4.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA), which lost 1.87% or 0.17 points to trade at 8.94 in late trade. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) declined 0.92% or 0.01 points to end at 0.97 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.82% or 0.02 points to 2.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 11 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.69% or 1.90 to $72.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.18% or 2.14 to hit $69.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.47% or 37.45 to trade at $2,579.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 101.50.
