Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 10.38% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.2340 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.27% or 0.0125 points to end at 0.3050 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 3.97% or 0.1450 points to 3.8000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 2.84% or 0.0980 points to trade at 3.3500 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.36% or 0.040 points to end at 2.910 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.98% or 0.100 points to 10.100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 2.21% or 1.48 to $65.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.90% or 1.84 to hit $61.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.82% or 10.90 to trade at $1318.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.95% to 1.2259, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.80% at 90.24.
