Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.53% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 4.10% or 0.6700 points to trade at 16.9950 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 3.83% or 0.0110 points to end at 0.2985 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.63% or 0.0650 points to 4.0650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.47% or 0.0125 points to trade at 0.2670 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.07% or 0.0400 points to end at 3.6900 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 0.83% or 0.100 points to 11.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 12 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.15% or 0.10 to $67.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.62% or 0.38 to hit $62.01 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.20 to trade at $1320.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.2078, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 91.58.
