Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.40% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP (LS:EDP), which rose 9.32% or 0.2900 points to trade at 3.4000 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 4.07% or 0.2500 points to end at 6.3900 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 2.68% or 0.2100 points to 8.0550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 1.44% or 0.0043 points to trade at 0.2943 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.97% or 0.0350 points to end at 3.5900 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.87% or 0.0100 points to 1.1330.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.30% or 1.00 to $78.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.45% or 0.32 to hit $71.02 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1319.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 92.25.
