Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 5.09% or 0.0125 points to trade at 0.2580 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.42% or 0.2500 points to end at 7.5700 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 3.14% or 0.0860 points to 2.8260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 0.55% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.9050 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 0.45% or 0.050 points to end at 11.050 and F.Rama (LS:RAMA) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 9.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.58% or 1.95 to $77.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.11% or 1.41 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1300.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.09% to 1.1662, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 94.06.
