Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS), which rose 5.94% or 0.2235 points to trade at 3.9885 at the close. Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) added 4.12% or 0.0450 points to end at 1.1380 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 3.48% or 0.4325 points to 12.8725 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which lost 0.94% or 0.0720 points to trade at 7.5500 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 0.39% or 0.0425 points to end at 10.8125 and REN (LISBON:RENE) gained 0.66% or 0.0175 points to 2.6675.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 6 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.15% or 0.09 to $57.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.43% or 0.22 to hit $51.19 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.33% or 3.80 to trade at $1143.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.0879, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.6972.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 97.75.
