Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.99% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.51% or 0.0690 points to trade at 2.0350 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.27% or 0.0940 points to end at 4.2400 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.88% or 0.180 points to 9.760 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which lost 0.44% or 0.0350 points to trade at 7.8500 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 0.14% or 0.0200 points to end at 13.9500 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 0.11% or 0.0002 points to 0.1794.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.64% or 0.39 to $61.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.87% or 0.46 to hit $53.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.35% or 17.25 to trade at $1297.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1402, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8659.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 95.605.
