Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 4.09% or 0.1340 points to trade at 3.4140 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 2.56% or 0.4550 points to end at 18.2050 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 2.29% or 0.1540 points to 6.8650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 0.87% or 0.1400 points to trade at 15.9050 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.75% or 0.085 points to end at 11.300 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.030.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.21% or 0.13 to $63.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.63% or 0.36 to hit $56.97 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.50 to trade at $1266.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8803.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 93.10.
