Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 3.82% or 0.1320 points to trade at 3.5900 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 3.33% or 0.0250 points to end at 0.7750 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 2.19% or 0.1150 points to 5.3650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 3.18% or 0.0062 points to trade at 0.1890 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.56% or 0.0800 points to end at 14.1200 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.41% or 0.0100 points to 2.4040.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.96% or 1.16 to $60.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.86% or 1.44 to hit $51.73 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1230.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1372, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8903.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 96.810.
