Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 5.17% or 0.0565 points to trade at 1.1495 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.54% or 0.1390 points to end at 5.6050 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 2.17% or 0.0690 points to 3.2500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 1.44% or 0.2150 points to trade at 14.7600 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.23% or 0.0300 points to end at 12.9500 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 0.23% or 0.001 points to 0.428.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 10 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.91% or 1.03 to $55.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.59% or 0.81 to hit $51.71 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.92% or 10.45 to trade at $1140.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.0459, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.44% at 102.70.
