Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 2.50% or 0.1070 points to trade at 4.3940 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.09% or 0.0090 points to end at 0.4390 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.93% or 0.0570 points to 3.0070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 2.09% or 0.3300 points to trade at 15.4500 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.20% or 0.150 points to end at 12.350 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.580.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 26 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 0.19% or 0.11 to $58.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $52.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 7.72 to trade at $1271.28 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.09% to 1.1683, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8867.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.87% at 94.34.
