Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.59% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.84% or 0.1500 points to trade at 5.4330 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 2.55% or 0.0270 points to end at 1.0840 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.46% or 0.0064 points to 0.2663 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 3.41% or 0.415 points to trade at 11.770 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.51% or 0.046 points to end at 3.001 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 1.10% or 0.0350 points to 3.1350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 16 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.01% or 0.63 to $63.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.68% or 0.39 to hit $57.86 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.91% or 11.60 to trade at $1266.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1814, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8786.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 93.36.
