Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.53% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 3.24% or 0.2200 points to trade at 7.0100 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.88% or 0.3400 points to end at 18.4000 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.79% or 0.0660 points to 3.7620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which lost 1.59% or 0.050 points to trade at 3.100 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.55% or 0.060 points to end at 10.760 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 0.53% or 0.0160 points to 2.9780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 15 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $67.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $61.48 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.80 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1973, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 92.05.
