Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.48% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 4.63% or 0.1900 points to trade at 4.2980 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 2.35% or 0.1170 points to end at 5.0970 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.34% or 0.0034 points to 0.1485 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 1.11% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.445 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 0.99% or 0.1600 points to end at 16.0600 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 0.83% or 0.1150 points to 13.6950.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 22 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.30% or 0.17 to $55.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $53.09 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.58% or 7.05 to trade at $1232.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.0589, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 101.15.
