Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which rose 4.17% or 0.570 points to trade at 14.250 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.64% or 0.2700 points to end at 16.7250 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.37% or 0.0510 points to 3.7800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 0.66% or 0.0015 points to trade at 0.2270 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 0.16% or 0.005 points to end at 3.180 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 0.3220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 7 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.60% or 0.31 to $51.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.74% or 0.35 to hit $47.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.35% or 4.57 to trade at $1292.13 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.9163.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 93.38.
