Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which rose 1.84% or 0.200 points to trade at 11.050 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.61% or 0.1400 points to end at 8.8300 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.52% or 0.0170 points to 1.1370 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 0.64% or 0.0060 points to trade at 0.9300 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 0.52% or 0.0850 points to end at 16.1700 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 0.39% or 0.0010 points to 0.2560.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.63% or 0.48 to $76.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.29% or 0.19 to hit $66.55 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1301.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1785, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8807.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.59.
