Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.33% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 13.88% or 0.0580 points to trade at 0.4760 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 3.07% or 0.5150 points to end at 17.3050 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 3.04% or 0.1600 points to 5.4260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 3.19% or 0.5200 points to trade at 15.7950 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.31% or 0.170 points to end at 12.850 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 0.45% or 0.055 points to 12.135.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 16 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.77% or 1.01 to $55.93 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.16% or 1.11 to hit $50.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.68 to trade at $1295.58 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1843, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.89.
