Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LS:SEM), which rose 3.94% or 0.6400 points to trade at 16.8700 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.71% or 0.0520 points to end at 3.0950 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.69% or 0.0170 points to 1.0200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 7.42% or 0.0230 points to trade at 0.2870 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.51% or 0.0037 points to end at 0.2421 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) shed 0.65% or 0.019 points to 2.926.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 16 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.27% or 0.17 to $63.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.28% or 0.16 to hit $57.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.70 to trade at $1295.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1871, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 93.04.
