Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 8.43% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.3730 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 5.23% or 0.1730 points to end at 3.4840 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 2.46% or 0.0200 points to 0.8320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which lost 2.81% or 0.090 points to trade at 3.110 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.94% or 0.110 points to end at 11.640 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 0.72% or 0.0018 points to 0.2490.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.66% or 0.41 to $62.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.57% or 0.89 to hit $57.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.77% or 9.85 to trade at $1291.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1793, while EUR/GBP rose 0.08% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 93.39.
