Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.63% or 0.2050 points to trade at 3.8450 at the close. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 4.05% or 0.1720 points to end at 4.4160 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 3.14% or 0.0070 points to 0.2300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 2.45% or 0.0680 points to trade at 2.7040 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 2.11% or 0.250 points to end at 11.600 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 1.28% or 0.0320 points to 2.4640.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.18% or 0.12 to $65.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.99% or 0.61 to hit $62.16 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.73% or 23.40 to trade at $1332.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.2346, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 89.56.
