Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.23% or 0.1150 points to trade at 5.2780 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 1.48% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.8230 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 1.40% or 0.0570 points to 4.1250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 1.43% or 0.0430 points to trade at 2.9600 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.18% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.3360 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) shed 1.17% or 0.038 points to 3.198.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 15 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.58% or 0.36 to $61.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.23% or 0.13 to hit $55.20 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.85 to trade at $1280.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1777, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8924.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.75.
