Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 2.31% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.3100 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) added 1.64% or 0.0400 points to end at 2.4830 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.34% or 0.0390 points to 2.9470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae (LS:YSO), which lost 1.83% or 0.0200 points to trade at 1.0730 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 1.00% or 0.0660 points to end at 6.5560 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 0.69% or 0.0018 points to 0.2585.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.74% or 1.10 to $64.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.77% or 0.44 to hit $57.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1247.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1797, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8831.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 93.77.
