Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 2.75% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Pepco Group Nv (WA:PCOP), which rose 0.36% or 0.06 points to trade at 15.55 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) fell 0.54% or 0.07 points to end at 11.95 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was down 0.90% or 0.10 points to 11.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 5.85% or 1.18 points to trade at 19.00 in late trade. Text SA (WA:TXTP) declined 4.42% or 2.50 points to end at 54.10 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) shed 4.42% or 0.38 points to 8.22.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 388 to 137 and 80 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.32% or 0.22 to $68.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.35% or 0.26 to hit $73.04 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 12.60 to trade at $2,627.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.47% to 4.33, while USD/PLN rose 0.65% to 4.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 106.23.
