Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC), which rose 4.90% or 7.10 points to trade at 152.00 at the close. LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) added 2.89% or 0.650 points to end at 23.150 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was up 2.37% or 6.80 points to 294.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB), which lost 0.73% or 1.80 points to trade at 243.40 in late trade. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) declined 0.72% or 0.800 points to end at 110.000 and Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI) shed 0.62% or 0.040 points to 6.460.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 123 to 72 and 58 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.24% or 3.30 to $1351.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.47% or 0.31 to hit $66.11 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.34% or 0.24 to trade at $69.89 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.09% to 8.1947, while USD/PHP fell 0.22% to 51.469.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 88.58.
