Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 7.04% or 2.50 points to trade at 38.00 at the close. Manila Electric Co (PS:MER) added 3.57% or 11.00 points to end at 319.00 and Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC) was up 2.31% or 0.500 points to 22.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI), which lost 1.40% or 0.090 points to trade at 6.340 in late trade. Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) declined 1.17% or 0.500 points to end at 42.100 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) shed 0.99% or 10.00 points to 1000.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 93 and 46 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.50% or 6.30 to $1259.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.36% or 0.20 to hit $56.16 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.34 to trade at $61.56 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.05% to 7.6643, while USD/PHP fell 0.13% to 50.660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.61.
