Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 2.63% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.950 at the close. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) added 1.75% or 0.100 points to end at 5.800 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 1.39% or 0.010 points to 0.730 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which lost 7.10% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.440 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 5.83% or 0.350 points to end at 5.650 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) shed 4.17% or 0.500 points to 11.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 8 and 19 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 2.79% or 1.77 to $61.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.24% or 1.50 to hit $65.36 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.74% or 9.90 to trade at $1319.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.03% to 3.2495, while EUR/PEN fell 0.99% to 3.9872.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 90.17.
