Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which rose 8.11% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.000 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 2.01% or 0.310 points to end at 15.760 and PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) was unchanged 1.49% or 0.00 points to 0.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 17.86% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.138 in late trade. Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) declined 6.45% or 0.100 points to end at 1.450 and Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros (LM:RSR) shed 2.50% or 0.040 points to 1.560.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 17 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.01% or 1.30 to $66.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.26% or 0.87 to hit $69.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.77% or 10.30 to trade at $1353.40 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.12% to 3.2115, while EUR/PEN rose 0.32% to 4.0082.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 88.44.
